adrian workman

Adrian Workman has been working with individuals, couples and young persons (16-24) for over 15 years. His ability to quickly develop trust and rapport with clients is supported by a sharp curiosity enabling clients to unlock important insights and open new possibilities for navigating issues. He is highly skilled at maintaining safety throughout his sessions, accelerating the ability for clients to move through difficult times. His integrated approach to counselling means that he is quick to adapt to finding the best way to work together, whether it’s providing new tools and strategies for daily living or processing complex issues and challenges. Adrian is an empathetic and warm practitioner who is dedicated to his profession.

Although Adrian works with all people, he specialises in working with men of all ages and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in this area. He has worked with first time fathers, adolescent boys, young men, and single and separated fathers in a variety of contexts. He regularly delivers group programs for fathers of teens and has developed other group programs for separating parents. Adrian is passionate about working with men as they strive towards becoming the best dad, partner and version of themselves.

Another area of specialisation for Adrian is in the homelessness sector. He has worked closely with a large NGO in Sydney’s South-West for the past 8 years where he has pioneered an integrative counselling/caseworker model focusing on men with families experiencing the stress or risk of homelessness. He has also helped implement this model into youth refuges and programs over the last 5 years. Adrian has been recognised for the co-development of this model, presenting at national conferences on Family Relationship Services and International Conferences on the impact of Childhood Trauma.

Previously Adrian has worked with Interrelate Family Relationship Services Australia as a couples and Individual therapist.
